Kalamkari, reimagined

Wear
the story.

For three thousand years, artisans of the Krishna delta drew stories onto cloth with a bamboo pen and the colours of the earth. Kalaavi sets those stories free — onto the clothes you actually live in.

Heritage you don’t
have to wait for.

Kalamkari was never mere decoration. It was a story you could wear — but for too long it lived only on temple hangings and festival sarees.

We bring the peacock, the deer, the lotus and the tree of life onto tees, tops and crop tops — pieces that move through an ordinary Tuesday as easily as a celebration. Modern in cut, ancient in spirit.

The craft

Indigo, madder,
myrobalan, iron.

Every colour in Kalaavi is a dye with a name and a source — indigo from the plant, madder from the root, ochre from turmeric.

We’re honest about it: printed pieces are Kalamkari-inspired. The word Kalamkari we reserve strictly for genuine artisan work.
